Two More Miami-Dade County Recertification Wins for AFSCME

Two more groups of dedicated public service workers will continue to have a strong and protected voice on the job after they voted to recertify their AFSCME unions.
In Miami Beach, the workers covered by AFSCME Local 1554 voted 95% in favor or recertification. In Hialeah, Local 161 won recertification with 99%of the vote.
AFSCME Florida Administrator James Spears, Jr. released the following statement:
“When you are fighting for a better future at the bargaining table it doesn’t matter if you are a Republican, Democrat or anything else, all that matters is winning for your family and your coworkers. That is why we continue to see AFSCME members vote to recertify their locals in every corner of the state. We have been, are and will always be about putting working families first.”
