AFSCME Florida Statement on Martin County Public Schools Recertification

Today, members of AFSCME Local 597 voted overwhelmingly for their union through AFSCME with 94% in favor of recertification. 

AFSCME Florida Administrator James Spears, Jr. released the following statement: 

“We are proud of the work AFSCME members have done to make Martin County Public Schools what they are today. In a rapidly changing environment, the security of a union voice in your future can make all the difference for working families. We see in today’s recertification that Martin County parents will continue to know that AFSCME members will be able to full focus on their jobs because of a strong and protected contract.”
