Yesterday, members of AFSCME Local 1184, representing non-instructional staff for Miami-Dade County Public Schools, continued rebuilding their union by voting 93% in favor of recertification.

AFSCME Florida Administrator James Spears, Jr. released the following statement:

“Nothing is more central to the prosperity of our communities than the education of our children. And the members of AFSCME Local 1184 do the critical work to ensure students can focus on their work, arrive home safely and study in a healthy environment. They will continue to enjoy a strong union voice as they do that work thanks to today’s overwhelming victory.”
