AFSCME Florida Statement on Recertification Win in City of Daytona Beach

In today’s PERC election, the hardworking men and women represented by AFSCME in the City of Daytona Beach voted more than 98% in favor of retaining their union, AFSCME Local 2066.
AFSCME Florida Administrator James Spears, Jr. released the following statement:
“Once again, these dedicated public service workers looked through the legislative tricks, traps or misdirection in order to retain their union contract. It is the protections and benefits that contract provides which allows them to focus on serving the citizens and visitors of Daytona Beach. We are proud they choose to remain in the AFSCME family.”
